A Snapshot of Photography in Carlton County
July though September
Open House: Sunday, July 25th, 2 to 4pm
Photographs mark special occasions and provide us with keepsakes of treasured memories and faces of loved ones. They can document events and moments in our county's history, or show off the natural beauty of our surroundings. A photographer's perpetual quest is to try and understand and reflect the world around us. See a snapshot view of the changes in cameras, subjects and uses for photography in Carlton County at our latest exhibit "Click".
Join us for an open house celebration on Sunday, July 25th from 2 to 4pm and make sure to bring a camera of your own! We'll serve light refreshments and offer good discussion on the history of photography.
For more information, call the Carlton County Historical Society, 218-879-1938
Stop in and visit - the coffee is fresh and the history is HOT!
Carlton County Genealogical Society
The Carlton County Genealogical Society is committed to serving the community. We are willing to help community members do research on their ancestors, set up family trees, and help them preserve their records. Our current community project involves getting the names, locations, and maps of the local cemeteries, so that we can provide a list of the people who are buried in them. This will enable you to come in to the Historical Society and look up information about your ancestors if you know which cemetery they are in. Our current board members are: Barb Burch – President Nancy Crider – Vice-President Karen Angell – Secretary Verna Puline – Treasurer Betty Enlund and Louwanna Johnson - Board members If you would like to join us, or find out more information about us, please contact Barb Burch at 218-879-3646 or by e-mail at
